    Ronnie Tarchichi

    Superintendent of Schools - Education

     

    Ronnie Tarchichi has built an extraordinary academic foundation, reflecting his dedication to education and professional development. His achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy in Education focusing on Special Education from Temple University, which he earned in 2020. This degree underscores his commitment to understanding and addressing diverse student needs. He received a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Rowan University in 2016, equipping him with the tools to lead and innovate within educational institutions.

     

    In addition to these doctoral degrees, Dr. Tarchichi holds six master’s degrees across various fields. Between 2015 and 2018, he completed two Master of Arts degrees at Rowan University, focusing on Learning Disabilities and Special Education. He earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey in 2011. His other advanced degrees include a Master of Biomedical Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a Master of Science in Biology from Rutgers University. His academic journey began with a Master of Education in Physical Education and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Philosophy from West Virginia University in 2004.

     

    Leadership in K-12 Education

     

    Dr. Tarchichi’s contributions to K-12 education have been transformative. Since 2024, he has served as the Executive Director of Education and Principal at the Mary Dobbins School & Legacy Treatment Services in Hainesport, New Jersey. In this role, he oversees academic and therapeutic programs for students in grades 5 through 12, focusing on fostering their emotional, intellectual, and behavioral development. His responsibilities include enhancing the school’s facilities and expanding its educational offerings.

     

    From 2016 to 2024, Dr. Tarchichi led Pennsauken Public Schools as Superintendent, managing a $172 million budget. During his tenure, he established over 20 career and technical education programs, such as carpentry, culinary arts, Air Force JROTC, and cosmetology. His leadership also led to creating articulation agreements with colleges, allowing students to graduate high school with an associate degree. Under his guidance, the district built New Jersey’s first top-ranked state school in Pennsauken’s history, the Roosevelt STEM School.

     

    Earlier, Dr. Tarchichi served as Superintendent and Principal of the Woodlynne School District from 2013 to 2016. During this period, he secured a $4 million ROD Grant for facility upgrades, significantly improving student achievement. His leadership earned him a Leadership Award from the Woodlynne Mayor and Police Chief.

     

    Post-Secondary Contributions

     

    Dr. Tarchichi has also made a significant impact in higher education. From 2012 to 2017, he worked as an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Rowan University, teaching courses that prepared students for careers in science and healthcare. He also taught biology, chemistry, and microbiology at Burlington County College and Mercer County College. His work with Temple University’s Upward Bound Program also supported high school students in building a strong foundation for their college education.

     

    Culinary Arts Experience

     

    Beyond education, Dr. Tarchichi has a unique vocational background in the culinary arts. For 25 years, he was the Head Cook in his family’s restaurant. This experience taught him valuable skills in food preparation, customer service, and teamwork. Working alongside his mother, he learned the importance of dedication and love—values that have deeply influenced his professional life.

     

    Professional Certifications and Recognitions

     

    Dr. Tarchichi holds various certifications as Superintendent, Principal, Supervisor, and Certified Educational Facilities Manager (CEFM). He is also certified in multiple instructional areas, such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Culinary Arts, Driver’s Education, Health and Physical Education, and Teaching of Students with Disabilities (TOSD). These certifications are recognized in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

     

    Dr. Tarchichi's work has been acknowledged with several awards, including the "Superintendent’s Academic Achievement Award" in 2024 for creating New Jersey’s top-ranked state school and the "Courageous Leadership Award" in 2020 for his guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

     

    Research and Publications

     

    Dr. Tarchichi’s academic contributions include two published dissertations. His doctoral research at Temple University explored strategies to improve learning outcomes for students with disabilities. At the same time, his work at Rowan University examined interdisciplinary approaches to enhance primary and secondary education.
